Project Title: Pervious Pavements and recycled materials used in pavements
Project Description:

Pervious Pavements and recycled materials used in pavements. Soil Erosion and sediment control to improve surface and groundwater quality. Use of silt fences to protect environment from runoff contamition from construction sites. Use of polymers for treatment of polluted water before discharge into receiving water bodies.

Student Responsibilities: Knowledge of basic physics and chemistry concepts. Environmental majors will be asked to perform laboratory tests on water quality. Basic skills in the laboratory and willingness to learn on the job. The primary characteristic is the adherence to safety and professiolism.
Student Requirements: My URE students participate in all aspects of research. They attend group research meetings, collect data in the field or perform laboratory testing, prepare short reports and papers, makle presentations to the research group. They will also prepare posters for the Showcase of Undergraduate Research in 2012.
